Wait..... What?

My apologies, I got distracted and forgot about the whole 'blog thing'. So, while I should be studying,, I decided to resurrect this wonderful timekill that is my blog. 


So 2011 is here, and with it comes lots of shiny new things. I'm in the same house as last year but have a great new bunch of house mates that are just too cool, I've met heaps of new people at uni events and have a bunch of wonderful things to write about including the regular what I'm listening/reading/watching in this insane month that is March. Be on the look out for Limitless, 4x4=12 as well as a Fat Yak amongst other things...

Like any good uni student during O-Week, I have been drinking. My poison of the last few weeks has been none other than the pale ale beer known as Fat Yak. It is an american-styled beer made by Matilda Bay Brewing Company, and retails for around $60 a slab. Although it has been seen as cheap as $47 at Dan Murphy's (care of Boozle). 

Fat Yak is a pale golden color and is fairly light, it has quite a fruity aroma and packs a satisfying amount of hops as it passes through your mouth, and will leave you coming back for more (so much in fact I am down two slabs).

Recently I went to see the movie Limitless after seeing this trailer and, being a business student thought to myself "hot damn, a film about corporate success and mind altering drugs, I'm in! Not to mention the oh so sexy Maserati I just saw."


The film itself had everything I wanted in an action movie; an intriguing concept, strong male role (another great performance by Bradley Cooper from The Hangover), car chases and lots of exotic scenery.


Limitless is a fairly predictable movie in terms of plot line, it follows a struggling writer Eddie, and his rise to grace with the addition of a mysterious drug. Cinematography is well done, like most movies these days and keeps you drawn in with the many what ifs that the concept holds.....  Go see it with some friends.                          7/10


My Sonic Soliloquy

4x4=12, while the maths doesn't work, the album sure does. 4x4=12 is Canadian artist Deadmau5's (dead mouse) third compilation album, and damn... it's freakin good. Some would call the album electro house, but I really don't care to categorize it as anything but awesome.


My favorite track of the Album 'Raise Your Weapon' is a killer prog/dub/ballad that does not get old. Two months & forty plays in my iTunes is proof of that.


Traditionalists may not love this album but for the lovers of electro music and mainstream-style vocals thrown into the mix this album is a must get...                         8/10

Arty Stuff

The web-series 'Looking At You' is based entirely on real life text messages sent in to the mX newspaper from Australian commuters. 


Messages about chance encounters, fleeting moments and missed opportunities shared between strangers are bought to life in this interactive web-series. Three stories of love and lust shape the series, accompanied by a unique blend of one-off characters, some comedic, some sad and some quite simply bizarre, and is definitely worth a look if you are bored, or an addict. Like me ;)

Final Thoughts..

Recently while perusing Deadmau5's uploaded pics of the Juno awards I came across this image. 

Now apart from the goofy look on his face, that reporter has one badass peacoat that I must own.. if anyone knows of a good place to find it online, or feels kind enough to find it for me... COMMENT!!!

Also, I ended up going with the Aerial 7 Tank Blizzard headphones, which after 3 months of heavy use have not missed a single beat, to quote my friend Chris on their quality "it's like a club in here" ;)
